Jannik Wiedenhaupt

Jannik Wiedenhaupt

Jannik is pursuing his master’s in Data Science with a focus on deep learning at Columbia. He is particularly interested in entrepreneurship and using artificial intelligence for climate mitigation.

To this end, he is currently working on a project to enable access to primary climate data for policymakers using GPT-3. Before his time at Columbia, Jannik completed a B.Sc. in Management and Computer Science at the Technical University of Munich and an Honors Degree in Technology Management at the Center for Digital Technology and Management.

Keerthi Sravan Ravi

Keerthi Sravan Ravi

Keerthi Sravan Ravi is a third-year PhD candidate at the Vaughan lab. He is currently working on autonomous Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). The aim of his work is to augment human expertise to improve access to MRI in underserved regions, and to improve imaging efficiency in developed regions. His latest work was presented at the annual conference organized by the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine.

Shuyang Fan

Shuyang Fang

My name is Shuyang Fang, and I am a 6-year Ph.D. student from Kristin Myers’ lab in the department of Mechanical Engineering. I am driven to understand the mechanics of the human body. In my research, I draw on the combined strength of mechanical testing and computational modeling to the study the mechanical environment of pregnancy, aiming to not only enrich our understanding of pregnancy, but also to bring attention to women’s health.

Sughosh Vallisha Kaushik

Sughosh Kaushik

I am Sughosh Kaushik completing a Master's in Computer Science Class of 2022. I am delighted to receive the grant to help me attend the SIGMOD student research competition in Philadelphia. Since the previous semester, I have been working in the WuLab, advised by Prof. Eugene Wu.

My work mainly focused on integrating provenance capture built on vectorized engines into DuckDB. I will present this work at the SIGMOD student research competition in Philadelphia. I want to thank the panel for awarding the grant and all the members who helped me.

Wenqian Xing

Wenqian Xing

Wenqian Xing is currently pursuing a master's degree in operation research. He attended and graduate from the joint institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the University of Michigan with a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a minor in Data Science. His current research interests include healthcare operations and combinatorial optimization.

Ye Tian

Ye Tian

Ye Tian is a first-year M.S. student in the BME Department. He is working in Dr. Andrew Laine’s lab with Dr. Jia Guo. His research interests are deep learning and biomedical engineering.
