Mechanical Engineering Graduate Association (MEGA)

The Mechanical Engineering Graduate Association (MEGA) is a student organization within Columbia's Department of Mechanical Engineering. MEGA grew out of a student initiative to create a greater sense of community among the graduate population. MEGA is the first department-level student government recognized by Engineering Graduate Student Council.

The purpose of the Mechanical Engineering Graduate Association is to:

- enrich the graduate student experience through academic, social, community outreach, career & professional development, and health & wellness programming targeted specifically to its members,

- represent the interests of its members with a unified voice to the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the greater Columbia University community,

- communicate information relevant to the interests of its members, and assist the Department of Mechanical Engineering as needed in executing departmental initiatives.

All graduate students in the mechanical engineering department are automatically members of MEGA. In addition, any doctoral student whose PI is a mechanical engineering faculty member is also considered a member of MEGA.

PMC

At Columbia Product Managers Club (PMC), we’re shaping the next generation of product leaders, startup founders, and tech strategists. Anchored in Columbia’s engineering and business ecosystem, PMC is where ambitious thinkers across schools come together to build, innovate, and lead.

Our mission is to empower students to drive real-world impact through technology and product innovation. From early-stage ideation to scaling solutions at venture-backed startups and global tech firms, we believe in creating opportunities that accelerate careers and amplify voices. We host dynamic product series, mentorship initiatives, founder-led panels, and recruiting prep to help our members break into the most competitive roles in product, VC, and entrepreneurship.

We collaborate across schools including SEAS, CBS, SIPA, and beyond, creating a community that’s as interdisciplinary as the problems we aim to solve.

Whether you’re looking to build the next unicorn, crack the product interview, or transition into tech from another path—PMC is your launchpad.

Think product. Think bold. Think PMC.
